"The Great Animal Race"
One day, a group of animals decided to have a race to see who was the fastest. The rabbit, the cheetah, and the snail all lined up at the starting line, ready to show off their speed.
The rabbit, being the quickest animal of all, was confident that he would win the race. He hopped up and down, eager to get started. "I'm going to win this race, no doubt about it!" he exclaimed.
The cheetah, not wanting to be outdone, flexed his muscles and let out a fierce roar. "I'm going to leave you all in the dust!" he said.
The snail, on the other hand, was feeling a bit nervous. He had never been much of a runner, and he wasn't sure he would be able to keep up with the other animals. But he didn't want to disappoint his friends, so he took his place at the starting line and braced himself for the race.
The race began, and the rabbit and the cheetah took off like lightning. The snail, meanwhile, plodded along slowly but steadily. He knew he wasn't the fastest, but he was determined to finish the race.
As the rabbit and the cheetah raced ahead, they soon found themselves at the top of a steep hill. The rabbit, thinking he had the race in the bag, slowed down to catch his breath. But the cheetah, not wanting to lose the lead, kept running as fast as he could.
As the cheetah reached the top of the hill, he suddenly tripped and tumbled head over heels down the other side. The rabbit, seeing his opportunity, burst past him and crossed the finish line first, panting and sweating.
But as the other animals gathered around to congratulate the rabbit, they noticed that the snail had also crossed the finish line. In fact, he had come in second place, beating the cheetah by a nose.
The rabbit and the cheetah were both shocked. "How did you do it, snail?" the rabbit asked, amazed.
The snail shrugged and smiled. "I may not be the fastest, but I'm the most persistent. And that's what really counts in the end."
The other animals all cheered and clapped for the snail, who had proved that sometimes, slow and steady really does win the race.
The end.
